Cariñosa is a passion project created by two friends with a shared love for Philippine craftsmanship. By adapting local materials into modern designs, Cariñosa aims to support the preservation of Philippine weaving, while making women of all ages feel beautiful on all occasions.
Cariñosa meaning the ”loving one” or the “affectionate one” in Spanish, is the name of a Philippine folk dance, from the Maria Clara suite. The dance is known for its use of the traditional abaniko fan.
Inspired by a customary dance we grew up familiar with, Cariñosa was created with a mission to share our passion for indigenous weaves, feminine styles and all things shoes.
